All Things 288XP

Got the 288 my buddy gave to me last week rebuilt. Previous owner had gasket sealer on all the carb connections. Had a heck of a time getting the screws out. Need to get a few fuel lines...fuel and oil tank on this was completely disgusting!!
Cleaned up a bit...

I've been wanting one for awhile,missed a few/passed on a few.

You don't see them in this area for some reason. I've only seen one clapped out 281 at a farm sale.

Started to take a look at the 288 and completely panicked when I cracked open the fuel tank: STRAIGHT GAS!! Shiite! He fired it up and ran it for me last night after I popped off the muffler!!!!

Strip the muffler off:

Looks ok. Tear it down some more and pull the cyl:

WHEW!! Not wasted!

Upon closer inspection, this saw appears to be in much better shape than anticipated
