Haha glad I'm not the only one who seen it!I've had the honor of spending a few hours in the shop with Rattler recently. Great guy!
I'm lucky to have him 20 minutes away.

It's like Bigfoot manI want pics...... of the milk crate!lol
I have investigated this a little bit, seems the fast idle is controlled with this set up. I still don't think it is working though..Anyone have any experience with a 288, 281 or 181 trigger and lock? How they work together and how the springs all go?
I have a 181 that will not engage the safety lock. I have checked the IPL and it's all a bit fuzzy.. It literally makes no sense to me... All I can see is that the safety lever will just interfere with the trigger when both are simultaneously depressed and lock the trigger in WOT for milling etc due to it's hook/catch and the triggers respective catch moulded into it?
Please can someone shed some light on how this works as mine is definitely not as it should be...

It was more how the safety lever spring goes. As this did not have one. I made one out of spring steel and didn't quite know what it looked like and where it went. All sorted now though. The saw doesn't seem to need the fast idle, but then again it is summer atm..Is your question in regards to the throttle lock portion of it then??.....That little hook on the presence lever gets broken or worn and won't catch for high idle sometimes......The safety part is simply depressing the presence lever enough to allow the lower part with the hook to align with the channel in the throttle trigger.
I'd keep the 372 and dump the other 2[emoji41]Quick question who would prefer to keep a 181se/281xp/288xp over a 372xp if you wern't cutting for a living and had a tidy 262xp nearly done as the prospective go to saw???
Or am I an idiot???? I love a 1 series/2 series...
