Think of the 288 as a big bore 281, just like a 272, it's a big bore 268. Husqvarna has done all the big bore work for you. I believe the cylinder skirts need to have some meat left on the bone if they are to retain their cylindrical shape and stuffs.
Good news is there's still the 395...
288+395? Hmm

It’s nice once the extra compressions are installed.
I used mine the other day at our site 3 project...finished up today... I can't imagine lugging this sucker around the forest all day, lol. It worked great falling 35" , 80' Poplars but then bucking them up while trapesing through the brush was brutal. I lasted about an hr then went to my ported 346 with 18" bar :p I'm too old for this *s-word...
