Did you already have that brake flag for he wrap handle? Finally got it completed minus decals. View attachment 417774New tank vent included a new tank. Had a batch of Rit dye mixed up so thought why not? While waiting on the tank I ported the cylinder. Just need to find some big wood and see what she'll do.

395 flag is the same/correct flag for a full wrap 288, if I recall right.Did you already have that brake flag for he wrap handle?
Well, now you tell me395 flag is the same/correct flag for a full wrap 288, if I recall right.
I may be wrong, I didn't think there were different plastic flags for 288's. I know the 395 flags were the ticket to putting a full-wrap on a 272, but I'm not confident on 288's.Well, now you tell me
I ordered one of Sawzilla’s cover assemblies to try. Didn’t even think of a 395 flag.
I do have a 395 on the way here from Bill G so will check it out.
Yeah. That's the one it came with when I bought it a few months back.Did you already have that brake flag for he wrap handle?
Interesting. Good bit of shared info. I had no idea.395 flag is the same/correct flag for a full wrap 288, if I recall right.
I did bend mine slightly, to get full extension,I can open the throttle more after the lever bottoms out. Is the lever not opening the carb full throttle (heat and bend?) or is the stop on the intake too low?

Yup, same flag for 288 and 395. But, I honk too short for the wrap.I may be wrong, I didn't think there were different plastic flags for 288's. I know the 395 flags were the ticket to putting a full-wrap on a 272, but I'm not confident on 288's.
Think of the 288 as a big bore 281, just like a 272, it's a big bore 268. Husqvarna has done all the big bore work for you. I believe the cylinder skirts need to have some meat left on the bone if they are to retain their cylindrical shape and stuffs.
