I wanted to really test my 288 so I put on my 42” .404 bar I use for milling with my 395. Found a good chunk of ash to run it in. Color me surprised that this saw pulled this bar at all. The oiler doesn’t seem to put out as much as a 394. However it pulled the bar without too much fuss. Tons of torque. I usually run a 28-32 on this saw. That seems to be its sweet spot in hardwood for power, balance and oiler output.

Quick story, was looking for MF 300 crawler help and found an old thread with a familiar name, @Mastermind. Fixed the MF issue, btw. 288 gobbles up this cottonwood. Figured I would share.
