This could be my bad english comprehension, but how much time do you have to wait for an US saw? The last saw I bought from Tony (the 3120 seller) was there in a little week.
2-3 weeks. If it doesn't get stuck in customs. That can add another few weeks.
I have gotten some things in a week, orders from treestuff, but it's rare.

I shipped a door handle to a truck to a member in Australia. Took over 2 weeks. Of course it was USPS.

Max Flow for sure for Aussie dust. 3120 and 880 are cinder blocks with handles. 084 isn't much bigger feeling than a 395. They're probably few and far between in good shape uses over there.
I've seen maybe one or two for sale that you'd want to own in the last few years. I'd buy one for home use, but for work there is too much nla.

I sold both my ported MMWS 088 and Slingerized 880 and kept the MMWS 395. It will do anything the 088/880's did and at 5 lbs lees + much smoother. If you wanna a good big saw get an 090AV or good ole 125, the two best big saws period IMHO.

Weedkilla needs parts availability, warranty possibly and what not that goes with a true worksaw used to make a living. If something fails you need to fix in 2 days not 2 weeks and be able to access parts. If it was an occaisional use play saw/firewood saw I'd definitely look at an 084 or echo 1201 imported from Asia. 90ish cc's don't go far in Ozzy dry hardwoods especially when your talking 42"+ bars. 395xp's make a lot of sense for many folks over a 120cc saw but until you try cutting 30"-50" dead ozy hardwoods you understand big CC is the best option. It's a pity you can't buy a 090 off the shelf with parts availability to boot.

Had a good chat to benne today, an 880 is on it's way. End of the day people are more important than a saw, and I'd rather deal with Ben than just about anyone in the saw game. We all know these saws are strangled and Ben isn't going to be a wanker when I order a 441 coil or 088 inlet.

Everything in above post makes complete sense. Awesome news you have one on its way, Ben pours Stihl oil on his weeties every morning.
He does, and he can tell you the production dates for when stihl oil changed packaging, certification, and formulation.

He sounds like the right person to ask if stihl makes another "FD" rated oil besides HD Super. As far as I can tell all the rest are "FB" which is a lower grade.

He did explain that to me one day, but I don't use stihl mix oil and didn't care a lot. From memory the difference from fd - fb is a smoke rating and has no bearing on saw protection.

...well according to those selling the product.
Two things, firstly - I qualified my statement by saying it was from the memory of someone who didn't care a lot. I probably shouldn't have spoken at all as it's just as likely I have added to the great pool of misinformation on the internets.
Secondly - I wasn't meaning to imply that it was a stihl spiel, I meant it was about the actual standards. You are free to look up the standards yourself and check the difference between fb and fd. They are international standards, not oil manufacturer marketing.

I run mineral shell 2T FB rated oil and wouldn't change. Killa is pretty much right on what his saying, FD ain't 'better' neccesarily just has higher detergent content, less smoke etc. But hell I don't wanna discuss this as some smart so&so will wanna argue about it to the death. I'm just glad he got a good saw from a decent guy who knows his stuff.

You "qualified" your statement when you stated: "He does, and he can tell you the production dates for when stihl oil changed packaging, certification, and formulation."

Just to be clear I only asked about product availability and not about the difference between fd and fb. I thought my question made that clear.
