Don't feel bad I get sidetracked too lol..... seen a squirrel today and lost track of what I was fixing hahah
I mean it was a rough day lol.... had to get ready for the owner of the company to show up and talk to yours truly about a 15 grand estimate on a tractor.

dealing with big estimates is hard to break to the customer.

Hate to break this to you but looks like it's gonna be 3000$ to port this saw.:)

Troof...

Since its dark and the saw aint done, I gots a stihl question.. :)

Any 52mm pistons with a centered top ring pin???
Stihl brand? I'm not sure. The 281 piston works good, as does the 272. The 272 has a 12mm pin like the 064, and closer compression height, but narrow skirts like the stock piston.

A meteor 064 has the widest skirt but is the heaviest.

Just wondering if any of the stihl versions had a center top ring pin like the husqvarnas. seems most are off to the side.

Thank you for the replies.

The way around that is to install the stihl piston backwards. Then you just mind how much wider you make the exhaust and you're free to add fingers or whatever.

Meh Fingers.....We don't need no stinkin fingers.

You can use only the top ring and move the pin Joe. If you only use the top pin, you can install the pin through the crown vertically, then add a dab of 4047 via tig. The pin will have nowhere to move/go.
