Hmmmm......I have three 064's here at the moment, and they all look like this:
View attachment 35199

The limited coils look the one Jason shows, and the unlimited look like a plain 029 style coil, which is what I use for replacements, they're cheap!
I was wondering that after i left the comment. I figured it would be my luck to have that be the case. I could have just looked at one of my own damn pics or cases but no...I decided to play stupid instead. Lol

I actually have both types and am obviously more familiarized with the one in the first pic.

These stihls a 12mm piston pin or 13?

Meteor lists the 281 as 13mm curious for future reference..

Split the difference go 025?

Nice build ya got going..

The 064/066/660 pistons are 12mm wrist pins. The Husqvarnas are 13.
But the rod ends are the same exact diameter. You use the bearing from the 281 piston.

They have a 12mm pin. Use a 880 pin bearing and a couple custom made washers with a 281 piston.
The 394 bearing is wider and doesn't travel beetween the bosses. The cylinder holds the piston centered from side to side travel so everything stays put without extra parts.

I have two 064s that were originally limited. I built them up using an 046 coil and a 1201a flywheel.
Has anyone tried the aftermarket dogleg coil? I just might give it a whirl on my next 064 build.

Edit- both saws have a Bing carb, too.

After reading through 20 odd pages of threads and going over a bunch of tech notes and IPLs I put this together hopefully it is helpful to somebody. The many fine folks here were invaluable in helping me understand as much of this as I can absorb so far :)
Pictures at the bottom of the post and corrections/additions welcome.

Thanks to Jacob J for the tons of good info on this topic.

Also attached is some interesting 064/066 documentation in a PDF that I hadn't seen here before.

There are at least two version of the 064 crankcase with different mounting holes for the ignition coils.

QUESTION - I have a flywheel 1203/1204 with a single keyway, when I line up the magnets with a dual keyway 1203 flywheel the single keyway lines up with the 1:00 keyway rather than the 12:00 keyway when viewed from the outboard side. So is this a limited or unlimited flywheel??

Thanks
Dave
