Looks old and dry. Whats the difference in the 661 Jason? The quad make a difference over the 2 ports or the mtronic adjusting the saw to the different loads? Seems to me it should be a job to outguess mtronics as many times a sec. As it adjust? All 3 saws look dang good
it was cut this past spring and has laid in the sun since so its hard as it can be.
green there not as bad.
i love the mtronic on these saws,it has the old boot, coil
i tried the updated coil but it seems to take some grunt away.

I think that a 7 tooth .375 is best in timber. That's just what I prefer. Used an 8 on and off and there was something about it I didn't like.
i only use a 7pin falling, the saw is much more forgiving.

i have to be careful with a 7pin on my 066 trying to keep it loaded enough so it dont grenade. the 661 is stronger but it can take care of itself.

i love a flat top 066 but if i was cutting timber again id be running a 661.

as far as this one is ported the mtronic works perfect, its always tuned and ready.
I good strong flat top. They are great. I had one for a good while, I always said if I could hold onto the saw and push it though a tree with my feet it would take it like a champ and just pull through it and work.

got a few videos loaded with her phone
new 404 full comp that i hit with a double bevel a couple times and a giant 8pin,i dont have anything else that will load a saw like this setup does.

Love the distinctive 661 sound. I've never heard one sing quite like the video I just watched. Very nice Jason.

Ive been thinking about the "why" your seeing better results with the 4700 coil J.

Mine ran very well with the 4700 until I put a Maxflo on it which makes absolute sense. More air, more fuel needed.

Iirc some had seen the fuel issue which was thought to be a rich condition but after some study turned out to be a lean fuel curve with the 4700.

You are at 800' right? I normally cut at 2100'. Do you have a Maxflo to run with that coil or maybe try without a filter? Just thinking the Mtron cant fully compensate for all conditions.
