I bought a 1974 Mercury comet for 400.00$ 20 years ago, i drove that thing all over creation, straight 250 six ,four door , green with jaundice interior.
The only performance upgrade i did was a front disc brake conversion.
I had to keep a case of oil in the trunk to refil with every tank of fuel.
I bought a cheap 74 Power Wagon as my backup vehicle at the time. I drove it for a year and lost reverse, drove it for another year without backing up.

Think of the money you saved by not paying car payments.

Gaslight much.

OP, did you get this awesome husky running yet, at east the case didn't crack like a stihl:risas3:.

Maybe he should take it to a stihl dealer to have it fixed.

Ya know I got a heck of a deal on a stihl saw that was taken to a husky dealer for repairs.........

How many of you took driver's education at school and had a pickup with 3 on the tree? It was not a favorite. A few of us didn't mind it at all. Whoever purchased it from local dealer, should have demanded a new clutch.

I did......and drove plenty of three speeds on the column. I remember a few being easy to get locked up.....and having to get underneath and get em straightened out.

@Woodpecker wasn't that AMC brown mfer at driver's training a three on the tree? Not the Reliant, the other brown one.
Dunno I never had to drive that one. Got lucky and only had to run the reliant once. Rest of the time it was the loner dodges.

Never took drivers ed. But I had two 3 on the trees. I would give anything to have one of them back; it was a '68-69 chevy; white, chrome rims, raised letter tires, wooden bed, red interior, custom stereo, small V8... Like Randy said, had to get her unlocked once in awhile. The other was a '79 Chevy with polyester tires; you know what I did a lot of with those tires, don't tell Dad, lol
