I was wanting something light that would pull a 18" bar and be fun to run at the same time. I've been talking with Kevin and he's going to port a 2152/346 for me.

That's not a saw you will regret owning. A ported 346 is a saw I grab almost any time I'm cutting.

Interesting thread, i own both saws and i find that the 562 is easier to manage in the field... however after reading this that may not mean it is that much lighter..

The weight on that 372 is wrong. They're 14.5 lbs or so
I was talking about the OE model. This is from the OE 372 manual. 6.1kg =13.4lbs

Just for comparison, this is from the 562 manual. The weight is real close.

I've been wanting one of these for a long time and just figured they were lighter.

It’s about a half lb low unless you don’t run spikes and have a low top filter. With the HD filter and dual spikes you’re over 14 lbs. a 562 is 1 lb lighter and smaller feeling. Which may be fine with an 18” bar but my back hurts thinking about that short of a bar

562, 3/2159, 357/2156, all hard to beat for a 20" bar saw after some modding. Mike built some strong ones for sure. Still haven't used a stock saw that gave me the holy *s-word's like 562 did.

361 is decent too. Great manners and a lot of power. Could change my mind in the class if I ever try a ported one.
You forgot about the 2260:cool:

I have to agree and well said! . Stock this saw really is a screamer with excellent throttle response coming from a stock muffler.

Funny the 562 is only 1 pound lighter than my 365sp. 20" on my 365 vs. 24" on the 562 but the 562 feels so much lighter. Both are great saws and a pleasure to run. In fact I prefer them over my 026 so think I will just sell it.
