Funny the 562 is only 1 pound lighter than my 365sp. 20" on my 365 vs. 24" on the 562 but the 562 feels so much lighter. Both are great saws and a pleasure to run. In fact I prefer them over my 026 so think I will just sell it.

I believe the 365 also holds more fluids. So it'll be heavier still loaded up for cutting.

Since the 562 is a lb lighter I ordered one Monday and it just arrived. It's nice looking but feels heavy compared to a 359. It feels about the same as my 371. I'll put a bar on it in a bit and see how it does.

Gut the muffler completely and leave it stock if you want to run it in weather hotter than 80 degrees. HEAT is the enemy with these saws.

I'm going to leave the 24" bar on it and install a full wrap.

Maybe money would be better spent if I ask Kevin if he would do that 2159 up like he did your 357.
A ported 2159/359 is the best saw if you only have one saw to choose from imo. If done right it will keep up with a stock 372/044. I like a modded 346 with .325 18 and a 044 with 3/8 24 if I have a lot of work to do. If I just have 1 tree to cut up I’ll just grab the ported 2159 with 3/8 20.

I'm going to be sending Kevin my 2152 to do. Feel like a kid, excited, and can't wait to get it done. I did go ahead and get a 562.

A few problems with discussing saw weights:

1) A lot of the published #s were wildly inaccurate (from almost all companies).

2) Different versions of the same saw changed weight quite a bit.

Early 562s had the 5 bolt case and were lighter than the current version, but some of the cases leaked and they had "hot start" issues. The current ones have 6 bolt cases, baffles to cure the hot start issues, but weigh 13.2 lbs, or the same as a 462. That said they cost less that a 462 and are one of the strongest running 60 cc saws out there, stock or ported.

The 10 mm 044s were one of the lightest 70 cc saws out there, but different filter options changed the weight and I don't think any were as light as the 13 lbs I've seen published. With the 12 mm cranks and HD filters, MS440s were 14 lbs.

Bottom line, if you have a saw that you like, and it runs well and does what you need it to do, it does not matter what brand or model it is. This is especially true if it is reliable and well mannered.

I love my 10mm 044, but if I have to do a lot of stop and start, I will almost always choose either my MOFO 360 or a ported 462 over it, just due to the fact that they have decomp valves that make re starting a warm saw so effortless.

Thanks for the info. I can't really tell a weight difference between it and my 371 with a low top. I haven't done much cutting with it yet but I did take a big pine down the other day and I got to say, it's fun to run.

Just wanted to add that you can't be to heavy handed with it but if you let it do the work it's really fast.

A good saw operator, with any saw, learns to keep it in it's range.

My un-ported 044 will often cut almost as fast as my ported 460, but you can not lean on it like you can the 460.

That is why it is nice to have different size saw so you can pick the one that is right for the job you want to do.

IMO, good running 60-70 cc saws make for the best "all around" picks.

562, 3/2159, 357/2156, all hard to beat for a 20" bar saw after some modding. Mike built some strong ones for sure. Still haven't used a stock saw that gave me the holy *s-word's like 562 did.

361 is decent too. Great manners and a lot of power. Could change my mind in the class if I ever try a ported one.
down at ej’s event saturday they used a new 572, not broken in for the pro stock saw. several people walked up to me and asked what kind of work had been done to it, “no way thats a stock saw”. ok...

After seeing the dyno thread I believe it. Still haven't ran one, but I wonder if it's just the smoothness like a Dolmar that doesn't make it seem as fast when you run it.
