Almost every one that I have seen does in between 190 and 215You ever seen a stock 6100 blow 190+ psi?
Not doubting, just kind of unheard of...
Do you know when these changes were made? Manufacturing dates? This is the change that may have made a difference. Only other changes are the intake hose and a Zama C3 DM27A vs C3 DM27 carburetor

A "Brand New" ps 5105 pulled 195 psi with a tank through it....this seems to be where most of the saws are ( 195-200 psi ..ish ) stock !Almost every one that I have seen does in between 190 and 215
It will make you check your gage because even at that high it pulls easier then a 40cc saw

I've been a fan of the 6100 for a while now but I wasn't aware of the high stock compression until this thread. That was a real eye opener for me.
Baby Got Back .... That's quite an arsenal! Here is a couple more photos

That is hilarious! I didn't even notice. I need to get in a better habit. I usually remember after I get hit in the face. Lol
Yes. . I think the brand new in the box ones blow 185. As well as the 5105s. Both of tese saws blow 220 + when I port them. Neither one has long enough skirts to take much more than .030 off. Dolmar likes torque. Lol.You ever seen a stock 6100 blow 190+ psi?

Hi Randy!Dolmars are factory hotrods. They blow 200psi stock normally.
220ish. Iirc. @WKEND LUMBERJAK now has that saw. And it's broke in. He maybe able to help us out. I can tell you even with that high comp the 421-6100 start super easy with the easy start system. What was the 5105 blowing you brought up to the rainy gtg. That was a fine saw

I'm not surprised at all to see the 6100 best the 562.

Really all makita did was cut out the middle guy. It sucks there doing away with the Dolmar name. However. The saws are not changing. Just a different sticker on them.I'd like to try a 6100 but it's near impossable to find a dealer in this area and the one I did talk to was pissed about Makita taking over , says they have screwed everything up so he's pulling the plug .
Seen others clearing saws up north and way east .
Doug's what? I'm out of the loop. What we be talking about!IT'S NOT FOR SALE.
I don't have a compression tester that I would trust. It is stronger than when I got it. Clint @Time's Standing Stihl I wish I wasn't working next Sat. you could cut with it at Doug's .
Ya that is the downside of dolmar/ makita. I do think that Makita is going to try and make a big push into big box and franchises like fastenal. Of course this is only my opinion.I'd like to try a 6100 but it's near impossable to find a dealer in this area and the one I did talk to was pissed about Makita taking over , says they have screwed everything up so he's pulling the plug .
