I obtained the following announcement from Husqvarna:

In regards to the 562XP and the 555, this is a direct statement from the Husqvarna Marketing Team:

"The 555 and 562 XP Chainsaw updates are designed to improve product quality, durability and performance. In addition to an updated design, the product quality improvements include the following:

• Improved clutch drum, worm wheel and oil pump

• Improved crankcase bearing and protective washer

• New and improved air filter

• X-Cut Chain

On October 1, 2020 both of these models will be available to purchase

>>> My question; In should I wait for the updated 562xp (probably available Nov.) or buy the current version at a $100 discount now?

The list pricing is not changing for the updated model:

Don’t advertise “revboost” on the Canadian site on new edition or it’s unloaded top rpm where old one says 14000 rpm

The biggest improvement will likely be the addition of the new, faster adapting Autotune. The fit and finish of the saws that have been released on new platforms (550xp and 572xp) seem to be better, however they are a bit on the heavy side. It wouldn't surprise me if the 562 gained some weight as well. I haven't rebuilt any new versions for any reason other than crap fuel whereas I've rebuilt numerous older versions for any number of reasons. You'll gain some things waiting for new as well as lose some things. Crapshoot if you ask me.

I noticed on Husky's website there are two different 555 and 562XP shown. They have the 555 and the 555 (2020) which has the gray case. Same with the 562XP, there's 562XP and 562XP (2020). They don't have RevBoost listed on the 2020 562XP. Don't know if it'll make any difference or not.

In a month or two I'll be in the market for a new 555 or/and more likely a new 562XP, I was wondering if I should hold out for one of the new 2020 saws.

*ETA*; how would one tell the new version of the 562XP over the old version? The 555 is easy, if they changed the color on the case.

Husqvarna rep said the sku # which now begins with 97, the old version begins with 96, is printed on a black tag attached to the saw.

I have been told the 562xp 2020 will be shipping early November. I have one on order.

The RevBoost feature was only on the 550, it was never on the 562.

Should be able to tell the new model by the taller top cover for the bigger air filter

The 550mk2 I had here had similar acceleration to the old 550/2253 I’ve run and it didn’t have “revboost” stated in the paper specs. I wouldn’t pay much attention to it.

So my 2012 562 was running like crap, no dealers within almost an hour drive and they aren’t open anyway this week. So I went online with Husqvarna and all they would say is it’s probably the carb. I stopped in at my Stihl dealer who said he won’t even touch a husky.....but sold me a CMR5H plug instead of a 6. Said it burns a little hotter. Fired it up this morning bucked and noodled through a tank and it runs great.

Any idea how much total run time you have on that 562? Did the hotter plug solve the problems long term?

I throw a new plug in my work saws (all brands) once a year usually. Normal maintenance.

I bought it used in ‘19 and maybe had it a year. When it was running, it run good. Everyone knows they are a pita to start and other associated problems. I can say right now that I will probably never buy a Husky again….but who knows.
