The MK1s had a lean fuel curve straight out of the factory as late as 2016-2017 when mine was produced. Once I had my AT updated in 2019, all start/restart problems went away. The idle fuel curve was fattened up, no need for a high idle to restart.

Cold starts: do not use the decomp on the MK1s, it somehow interferes with what the earlier version of AT was trying to do at cold start/restart.
It has bog unless you let it idle for awhile. I guess it’s okay if you are patient but if you are cutting roads open you want to get in and out

I put this smashed 261C together after parts became more affordable; BGD and an extra muffler outlet. I'm pleased with it's power and rpm .
Parts are still brutal. That 661 intake boot was over $80. I buy every 261, 271, 291 carcass I can scavenge. Just top covers are all $80 for the 261. I ended up buying standard carb covers to get something cheaper

Parts are still brutal. That 661 intake boot was over $80. I buy every 261, 271, 291 carcass I can scavenge. Just top covers are all $80 for the 261. I ended up buying standard carb covers to get something cheaper
The peoole who part saws on ebay have kind of drawn my ire at this point.

If you're going to sell individual parts, how about you at least clean them?

This is a pretty Karen thing to say. eBay is the free market. If it's dirty, you pay less. If you pay the same, why clean it?

Must have found some people who have no problem marking up an uncleaned, mag rotted clutch cover for $70.
If the seller wants to sell it, they will sell it. If not, they'll do that. It's their shït, I don't see the problem. But then again I don't wake up looking for things to be aggrieved about...
