I have a nice 048av for sale that I recently went through. Saw was locally owned and used for firewood with a 20 inch bar since new. The owner's son straight gassed it about 20 years ago, and he gave it as a gift to me.
The OEM cylinder cleaned up very nicely. I used a new Proline piston kit for it, and used OEM circlips. Base gasket is deleted, running 25 thousandths I believe.
The ignition was a stumper. I got a 1-piece coil for it and ordered the corresponding flywheel from Chainsawr a month ago, but got the wrong part. He still hasn't gotten the right part to me, so I put a degree wheel on the saw and used a timing light to set the flywheel position sans keyway for now. At first, it was too advanced at 32 degrees, but runs great now at 25 degrees.
I installed an aftermarket tank vent and had to fix the kill switch wire. Sick custom felling dog.
The thing is loud as heck. You can feel the power in your hands.
$550 plus ship PHO, or make me a trade offer. I want a 372...
