I didn't hear about the recall either, I'll have to give my boss's a heads up.

Yep. We got the notice at work a couple of months ago. I pulled the units, then a few weeks later they sent a second notice with the information about the unaffected units within the range. Weird that the customers affected weren't immediately notified via email, or phone. I know for a fact that I sold two 461's within that serial number range.

More like a Stihl retailer......"not sold in Box stores", *B-S....! Ace Hardware, and Regional farm and ranch supply chains is different......right?

The fuel line is known to leak where it attaches to the carb.

Mine falls in the serial number range, maybe I should take it back to the dealer, wonder what they'd think of that sexy sticker it wears now... or the triple port muffler...

Mine will be the same way if it leaking! Minus the triple port muffler. Shouldn't matter on warranty work though, right?

My only dealer says that any saw that's been messed with aka ported he can't work on. I don't know if that's a stihl rule or his. He did say that it would need to be returned to stock configuration. I'm assuming that's for epa reasons but I'm again speculating.

I think this whole 461 recall is perpetuated by disgruntled hooskie 372xp fan boys. They are upset because they can't keep a bottom end in their 372, or choke lever, for more then a few months, let alone the muffler screws rattling loose and falling out.

It stinks of conspiracy...here is what really happened,,,

372xp fan boys snuck in Stihl dealers around the globe, when no one was looking, they replaced the OEM fuel lines, with cheap farmertech ones, and made sure that they were pinched, and would leak. They only got to 117 or so 461's...
