Hey I know you said you haven't run the saw much, but could you "feel" a difference when you put the dual port muffler on...

Since getting fuel leak fixed it is the only saw I have ran for work. Roughly 22 gallons of fuel through it since last Monday alone. I like the dual port muffler cover combo.

Not sure if it just sounds better or actually runs better. All I cut is hardwood also. 661 is still my favorite saws.

If nothin else your gettin rid of some unwanted heat..i didnt notice much of a power bump in my "personal" efforts to test it.

True. Also, I didn't notice any volume difference with the dual port cover over non on my 461.

044 is a different story, it's painful to me with a dual port cover

Oh ok I see, you have ran her a lot at work....what size of bar are you running on the 461....

So you like the 661, what size bar do you use on it....seems some love the 661, some not so much....I don't know if it's the m-tronic they don't like or what....

Size of timber dictates bar length. I refuse to run a longer bar than necessary. 20" is on 461 at the moment, 25" on 661

I found out today Stihl Canada has sent a Tech notice to dealers about the recall and the dealers have been contacting saw owners that have effected saws to bring them in ASAP .

Our department has a 461 on one of our engines. I brought up the recall last night and we haven't been notified about it.

They told me to take care of it if there's a issue. What's the S/N range that is affected?

I still say Stihl should have MADE dealers call/email owners....it's really not that many saws spread out over the whole USA!!!!

I will call my dealer next week to see what he says....
