So a Stock 661 which handles sweet beats out a 395 which has the handling characteristics of an oil barge...
say it aint so ...
what will the "H" boys come up with as a justification of this proclamation !!!!!
im goin with the atmospheric truncation that caused the tornado in the first place clearly left some sort of anomaly.
I was down helping do more clean up at @tree monkey 's ...turns out he he got a 395xp in to port. So figured I'd run it stock vs my stock 661... Cuz I gotta test something! I can't just go cut wood ya know!
7 pin .404 36" RS. same gas. same bar oil. same chain. tree monkey checked the tune on the 395. 661 is broke in. 395...his customer said it was a runner. cuts done with in minutes of each other.
661 - 51.7 , 51.4
395 - 54.8 53.4
i expected the 395 to win. but i expected the 661 to be closer than most would think. Didn't expect the 661 to win. Can't wait til tree monkey is done with both of them to see ported vs ported. I expect the 395 to win the ported battle.
I'm one of his friends, yesQuit being a bully dally .. leave "J" alone.
You're makin his friends mad.
I'm one of his friends, yes
I'm friendly with just about everyone, including you Ryan
I'm not mad at whats happened, I've had nothing to do with it
I'm getting tired of the endless drivel over it.
Man up and talk to the guy you're pissed at.
Act like a man, keep the boards clear of the soap opera re-runs
I dont care who is involved, or what forum its on, communication is the key, mud slinging gets nowhere, except, to drag the forum its on, right down the crapper.
Why? The 395 is a saw I ported. It was faster in a cant than the OP's 661 at the Iowa GTG. Not with me running it though, evidently I suck at racing.
I grew out my beard
I think they will say that stihl finally made a 90cc saw that can beat a husqvarna design that is older than jesus.
And to wait for husqvarnas new 90cc offering to compare.
Just a guess.
Not by much.... And everyone using race chains. I just had a stock factory RS chain off the roll.
I feel the 395 will have a little more torque personally just my 2 cents worth
Both ported in this comparison. 38 secs for '95 39 for 661. 661 was a 95 exhaust short bar saw. Both stout saws.
With a race chain later your saws times and the time from Matt running mine where really close. It'd probably come down to who got the better wood.
