HELP! 395 milling saw

I have a customer who wants a milling saw.
I’m getting a 395 clone, and doing QC.
He doesn’t want any porting but I suggested a muffler mod. Having never milled, I’m wondering how that should be done? I don’t want it burning his wood, or on his face. Maybe a deflector faced toward what’s normally the bottom. Of the saw? Would that make the mill hot?

I would think spacing the power head farther back and a Minimally restrictive deflector "SHOULD" be safe but COMMON SENSE is paramount. (BIG WORD in small case letters))
Only drawback is size of the cut.

I’m not thinking some absurd pipe, just a 1” pipe sticking out an inch or so, or a deflector.
Prefer the pipe for better sound(not so damn loud) and my pipes look better than my deflectors.

If you Google 395xp muffler mods, I'm sure you will get some ideas. Lots of people put a red97 deflector in front of the existing outlet. Yes it's on the bar side but when you mount the mill on the bar the deflector will be a safe distance from the wood.

For milling I put a 1”ID pipe out the starter side of the can tilted away from the operator. It’s loud, but it’s the least exhaust you have to breathe and it moves a lot of heat. I’ve always thought about extending the pipe with flex hose to the top of the jig.

395 isn’t a terrible mill saw, but you can overheat the clutch. Don’t force the cut and keep your chain speed up. Auxiliary oiler helps a lot for 36”+.
