Husky that part doesn’t come in the kit and searching for it - husqvarna 503 96 22-01. Nothing comes up on partstree baileys or hlsupply. Found some in Great Britain on eBay. I see where it goes and what it does. Do you think it’s a necessary part? Since it rest right up against carb there is nothing to prevent it from collapsing or getting sucked together. What’s your thoughts

Baileys out of stock - would have been nice if they would have mentioned that before today !! Found it at eparts and ordered and shows 4 in stock but if i get the carb before the ring . I may have to see if it will run and put ring in when it comes. I’ve really enjoyed working on this saw except the wait on parts and the dang shipping. I would have saved a ton if been patient and ordered all at one time. I actually thought about finding 372 in same shape and giving it a shot but this has been kind of headache with all the little parts. Maybe i will forget the headaches after i hear it run. Thanks for all the help

Can anyone tell me where the two shorter screws go in the kit ? I have the two long smaller screws that go in carb to hold it on but there was two more larger shorter screws in the conversion kit too just don’t know what they are for

Husky or anybody familiar do you remember having to drill out holes in cylinder big enough for bolt heads to fit through ? Looks like the two bolts they sent will be fine but the other two will need to be drilled out if i use bolts that came out of saw. Or i can get two more bolts same length as what came in conversion kit but tension will be on cooling fins instead of base of cylinder. I’m thinking drill the holes but wanted to ask before drilling

I will need to order two longer bolts like the ones that came in kit because the stock bolts will not be long enough
Those bolts you showed me the picture of are the right ones. The front bolts are the same as the 394 I believe.

Front bolts or 394 bolts will not reach threads unless last cooling fin hole is drilled larger so head of bolt will fit through.
And it just doesn’t look right with pulling down on thin cooling fin when if drilled bolt would sit on base of cylinder like before. Other two bolts cylinder is beefier around base

Fellas i have gone a different route and decided to use the 395 cylinder and piston with the conversion kit and split case and put all new seals and bearings in it. I decided this on advice off of another forum from fella that sounds like an expert. He says saw is worth the time and money spent. I will be reading and asking questions on splitting case installing bearings and seals. If anyone is familiar with 394 splitting case new bearings seals and using 395 cylinder and the conversion kit i sure would like to pick your brain and gladly listen to what you have to offer. I just don’t want to ruin case or crank and have a box full of parts. Would really like to hear saw cutting big ole fat piece of white oak that’s waiting on it in back yard.

We had talked and he might be coming to shop and rebuilding saw. We was talking on arborist and I told him to join ope for better info. I could not find Mattyo name on arborist site.

Scott there is some damn good awesome fellows on here!!!!!glad you join

Interesting. I haven’t had this issue on 2 394 chassis I put 395 cylinders on. Two long screws go on carb side and two short ones go on exhaust side.
