So a couple of years ago, I rebuilt this saw for a friend/local tree service. I found a good used cylinder, replaced crank bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel line, etc. This was the first saw I had ever been into that deep. The saw died on the job awhile back and up to that point had been working well for them for a couple of years. They took it to the local Huskt dealer and were told it had a crank bearing failure. So this leaves me wondering if I did something wrong on assembly that caused a premature failure? Keeping in mind this was my first major overhaul and everything has a learning curve. I have since gotten much better at bottom end assembly, but I don't recall any signs that I did it wrong back then. Crank rolled normal, etc.
So, I'm about to go dig in #1, verify it in fact needs crank bearings and #2, see if I can determine the cause of the failure if that's the case.
I'll post up some pics when I get her torn down. Heading to the garage now...
