So I tore down my 372 getting it ready for the rebuild. Had good compression it was up at 155psi. I pulled of the jug and it looks like something was smashed up top, or they mangled something trying to get the clutch or flywheel off. Everything feels good no marks on the cylinder wall, was just wanting some feedback. You can see in the cylinder pic, the matching marks in the piston, on the right side of the pic.
I’m also gonna be putting new bearngs, I want to get rid of the plastic caged bearings. I know they’re 6202’s, was wondering what others go with instead of oem. My dad has a couple sets, he uses them on his old dirt bikes. I forgot the brand but they are the higher speed rated ones. Thanks guys

Weird looking marks. Check the crank over real good looking for missing rollers. The marks look old to me tho

You can see them better after I cleaned it a little. This saw was used at a firewood yard here locally so who knows what one of those guys might have done.

Looks like it has been needled. Either end of the rod bearing must have let go at one time and previous owner must have just fixed minimal damage and rolled on.
