@stumpyfine , are there crank modifications necessary to fit the clutch and flywheel?
They fit straight on, the crank is the correct length, the MS361 flywheel has a different taper hence the need for the 360 flywheel, The coil needs spacing out slightly to align with the flywheel magnets.

Looks like a fine build you have there @stumpyfine . If you ever have it back apart it would be great if you did a build thread.
Thanks, sure will.have just started working on a MS461 stroker, will do thread on that one.

Hello Phil, good to see you here. I'll have to give it a run when I'm next up :)

Now I have fitted the 361 crank to a 021/MS250 I was repairing. this only gives takes it from 45 to 48cc but has the advantage of allowing the squish to be cut etc. I lengthened the piston skirt with weld, not sure how long it will last.
Problems as follows
Crank is 4mm shorter on pto side, took a bit of machining to get the clutch retainer E clip on. Flywheel side is 4mm shorter but Flywheel went on and only required a washer under the nut to tighten on the taper
Had to cut too much out of the squish band so could only use the second ring
Flywheel key in wrong position. Removed key and set timing via coil to magnets as per pic2, this is with piston at TDC.
This timing setup can be applied to most unlimited stihl coils, so would be helpful if you don't have the correct Flywheel keyway available.
Ported and with MM, Saw runs ok but but no great gains in power, could be improved with more attention to porting etc.
If I did again I would find a different piston with shorter compression height and check a ms290 crank as it may have the correct length on the pto side

I'm interested in alittle more detail about what was needed to make everything fit and how it compares to a stock 361. Wonder if it would out run a ported bigbore 361?
