I wish we could see this saw get dyno’d..
Me as well. Ive bein looking into a small engine dyno. Maybe one day I can build one and do that. But for now im throwing a fresh bb kit on my 361 I just found for $100I wish we could see this saw get dyno’d..
I’m getting mine together. Slowly. Hasn’t been bad so far. Case is cut, crank is in, jug is fitted. I went 54mm, 660 piston. Probably stock muff with huge outlet, 661 carb.
Going to do a build thread after you get it all together and working?
These builds interest me more than just a port job.
I’ve got a few photos but I didn’t do a very good job documenting so far. Plenty more to do. If it doesn’t crater I’ll try to do a writeup.
Frankinsaw!Hello all im Phil from New Zealand, this is my first post, I have a MS361 with 440 crank and 460 cylinder. Used a 440 carb,272 piston ,ms360 flywheel and modded 361 muffler ,all running good with original covers. Cylinder holes required a lot of slotting to fit the different bolt pattern and cases needed machining for crank clearance.
Thanks, to fit the crank the case needs machining, this is easy if you have a lathe. The cylinder needs machining to fit. This unit has is built from clone parts I had. The big advantage of these is cheap prototyping. I have now proved it all works. I can't give a comparison of how it compares with a stock 361. I know if it was built with ported oem parts it would out perform any ported 361.I'm interested in alittle more detail about what was needed to make everything fit and how it compares to a stock 361. Wonder if it would out run a ported bigbore 361?
