288xp Restoration

A fellow member contacted me about building him a "really nice 288xp" I told them the price and they sent the check, stand up guy, this is what I built him, just hope I didn't disappoint him, this may take till later today to finish but here it is before I started, do you see the potential.lol. I use all oem parts, every last bolt and gasket is husqvarna, except for the muffler because it is no longer available. Let me know what you guys think. I would like to thank @Glock37 for his help with the powdercoating on the case halves.

I don't see any differance.....oh its missing the cylinder. Doesn't even look like the same case anymore. You did all crank bearings and seals and all? Nice job I think he's gonna like and if he don't give him his money back and you can sell it to someone else for MORE. Lol

Thanks, I appreciate it. Tried my best to keep all oem, I am sure I will have to order a few more parts, but I think I have 95% of it

Have to get a few bolts yet, and the after market muffler was a piece of junk, so I will find another 1. Seems I forgot to order bar studs,hmm mm not sure how I forgot those.lol my dealer might have those in stock.

They are staying right there on the shelf! Those are my babies, all 17 of them. But I have another case, crank and fuel tank, plus some small pieces for another 288.

Thanks Andy, the feeling is completely mutual, Andy built those 288xps on the shelf, he gave me the 288 bug.lol. if this saw is as nice as the 1 he built me, then I will be a very happy guy, he set the standard

Another plug for Andy. He and I have done our share of buying and selling with each other and it's always a pleasure doing business with him whether buying or selling. Bonus points for his special talent for hunting down nice 394 clutch covers on eBay when they don't seem to scare up when I try searching them. Lol!
