2165 Rebuild

I started tearing apart the 2165 last night.

Here's where I finished up. Looked in my parts bag and I'm short one bearing. I ordered some 6203 and forgot to get an extra 6202 for this one. When you split cases don't check the oil tank to see how full it is. It's much more fun to soak the bench and vise with bar oil.

Nope. This will have the 365 special jug. I actually sold the 372 jug I had in favor of the 65cc.

No this will be a hot woods saw or closer to a cookie cutter. I have another 365 for firewood if I want to use it. This might get a 2 piece head and stuff like that. I want to build one on alky so this may be it. I had thought about ceramic bearings for it but decided the cost isn't worth the gains.

Got a nice used crank for this since that one was stuck and I had to hammer it around to get the case splitter in there.

They're so close I've sold several 372 jugs and bought 365.

I couldn't turn it on the bench. The crank was stuck hard.

I heated it to knock the bearings out. One tap with a socket after it's too warm to hold bare handed.

Mike- I can send you some bearings Monday morning. I still have leftovers from that huge lot of NOS Nachi bearings I bought a couple years ago. There ended up being 150 new bearings in that bag.
