Going to also be picking up a direct drive David Bradley and a Homelite Super Wiz 66 gear drive soon. Hopefully I can at least get one of them going to bring too.

Depends on what you like and your cutting style. There will be many saws there, good examples of all 3 of yours all done differently.

The older dual port saws always seem to have more low end. They seem to always feel faster than the newer quad ports in part because of the AV. Generally they only feel faster and the newer/better AV saws will get through the wood faster.

I personally like a good 034S/036. The 262 is also a great saw, it’s a bit fatter than the 036. The 361 done right is a true one saw plan. Mason was mailed an 046 pump for the one coming to the GTG. That saw can run a 16-28” bar no questions asked.

Here’s the 361 in oak, and only with the 361 oiler (really not enough).

did you build that?

So let’s get this “60cc” rules squared away. Typically as I understand it a 4 cube chainsaw class... most use saws from 56-65cc. Which makes sense as they are all grouped into the 60cc saw class. I say we use that as a rough guideline. 59-62cc narrows the field significantly. Which is kind of boring and limiting to others who don’t have that specific size saw within that 2cc window. Next is what size bar are we running? 18, 20 or 24”? Sprocket, 7 or 8 pin? What chain? Type of wood? A softwood cant or piece of oak log?

...and yes while the 365/2165 are usually fast, they aren’t unbeatable. If someone shows up with a jonsered 630, 162se, 116si, 362xp, 6400 or 665 it could get interesting. Who knows what could happen, a good 562, 6100, ms361, ms362, 036, 262 or 357/359 could take the title if they were done well? Especially if we choose a shorter 18-20” bar instead of a 24” bar. It just makes it more interesting to have more saws. The more the merrier.

My 034 is setup with a 3/8-7 rim and I can run either a 16 or 20 inch bar with full chisel Oregon chain. It's 56.5 cc.

The Super XL is setup with a 3/8 7 tooth spur sprocket and again I can put either a 16 or 20 inch bar with full chisel on it. It's 57 cc however it's not spinning modern saw RPM as it's a reed valve horizontal cylinder saw. It's gonna be interesting how it performs against a modern piston ported vertical cylinder saw.

Let's run 50cc vs 70cc...
I always thought you were up for a challenge? Not looking to take the "EZ" route...

Whats the issue with separating the "60cc" saws into 2 segments? 58-62, 63-67?

We should do a go fund me for sure. There is zero reason Dan should have to do all that work and pay for it as well.

I’m buying a new sauce pot for this event. I know most attendees are tired of hearing me *b-word about the sauce burning, and I can’t stand worrying about that, so I will be grabbing a biggun at the restaurant supply place on the way up with the food supplies.

The wife may be joining me this year, I’m not sure yet. Likely not because it’s my one weekend a year to spoon with @Canadian farm boy (the silver eagle).

Who’s bringing the beer?

@usmcbuckwild , you coming?

The menu will be the same. May bring an Octopus to grill. Gotta bring 30# of chopped meat this year as the Barrett Bro’s and Co. ate 10# of chopped meat on Friday night by themselves.

And @Lightning Performance Kenny, don’t cover my sauce pot!

Hell yeah i’m in!! I would happily contribute to a go fund me, bring some more beers, maybe another beer run with @leadfarmer and the food was AWESOME!
