Ok so I'm hoping to get back on this tomorrow. Another snow day so we will see.
I know a lot of you pull the bottom ring on some of the saws you do. What do you think of doing that on this saw?

This cylinder David sent me was a headbanger without a gasket. Since the gasket was .016 I could have just bolted it up but I figured I would bump compression a bit. So I sanded the squish to get to .016.
I broke a ring so I'm going to leave the bottom one out. Curious if this will give any gains like on some bigger saws???
We will see.

I'd order a new set of rings.
Not sure if you read Scotts posts a few weeks ago?

I don't even remember what thread it was.

But....
You create a free port situation between the upper transfers and the exhaust port before it has a chance to open when you leave out the bottom ring.

Dan,
Price the piston set( complete with the 2 rings) ifn I member right it cost like $8.00 more for a new OEM piston then just a set of rings. plus you get a set of new Circlips and one evan comes installed !!!!.

(lemme know if ya wanna borrow the 8mm circlip installer tool too.)

Not like a normal saw I didn't see where the numbers could be improved. I'm sure you could if you had one to mess with.

I mm ign timed and removed limiters on a couple for my trees inc friends Then. I did these mods. Plus flowed the carb. In a race they were neck and neck. I may go back. And do some time cuts and see.

On the 201 turds I have not really notice a change in performance with the screen out. The 200t was a different animal with the baffled screen removed
Yup...all removing the screen in a 201 does is melt *s-word. They need a gaping hole installed in the mufflers...
