A friend of mine who is a tree guy gave 2 saws he wanted more out of. 200t exhaust side is scored, so I'll be tearing it down.
This 201t piston and cylinder look good through the plug hole and exhaust port.
Saw is really dirty, but the case looks like she's getting excessively hot. Is this because of the choked up muffler and she just needs to breathe? Can't cool cuz it's dirty? Dull ass chain? Combination?

They definitely run better if the exhaust is opened up. My 192T had a single 1/4inch diameter hole in the exhaust. Took the saw a good two-three seconds to go from idle to full rpms. I opened up the muffler, trimmed the collar off the H jet to allow more adjustment and advanced the timing by half the key and now it runs like an actual chainsaw.

That's why the plastics by the sprocket are all black and burned. I see it quite often on 201's. Tree guys think they can pull them like on the 200's and it does the same thing...all it really does is help direct exhaust forward like that and burn the plastics. I'll bet the clutch cover looks all black and burned too. That appears to be a very well maintained saw otherwise.

I agree, the 201's roast if you just pull the screen. I usually drill a 3/8 hole in the side of the muffler and trim a little plastic from the clutch cover.
Done a couple crank seals on 200's and tons of intake boots, fuel and impulse lines . Looks like they need a good steam cleanin

I just finished cleaning a friends 200t. It was all gunked up too. The oil cap was leaky and the flywheel was drawing it in and coating everything with it is what I am thinking.

I been thinking about charging a "you dirty sonofabeach " fee of $10 for having to clean saws that come in so filthy dirty that it takes time to clean them before they can be identified. It's just annoying.

Dan, almost every 200/2o1t I ever get is roached, run over or launched from the tree. Those saws are tough sonofabeaches.

$10 is a deal! I've been cleaning for an hour and I'm not done...
But anyways, inquiring minds want to know!!
Squish with gasket is .029
Gasket measures .016
Timing numbers
Ex 108
Ex transfers taper 129-123.5
In transfers raper 132.5-126
Intake to the divot in piston 76
Intake bottom of piston 69
Not sure how to figure the stratos? But it appears they push air or mix over to the transfer through the piston porting.
