So I guess I need to address this now that Al spilt his feelings on it.
There were just under 50 people who attended. The last 2 Gtg’s were just over 50. I have no problem with the amount of people, or even the clean up. Truth is y’all left my place very respectable, other than the wood, but that’s what this is all about! Many of you helped clean up Saturday night and I’m very grateful. The wood I have machines to help me, and I can burn all the cookies so it’s all good. As far as finances, it is quite pricy to put this on, and I know you all appreciate the amazing food we have, there have been many comments about that. The food and talking before and after saws is as great as the saws! I kinda thought guys would chip in, and a few did. But many came played ate and left. Perhaps I should have put out a jar, but I thought that was cheesy. I guess that’s my bad. Perhaps many are unaware of the costs involved. I said it before but I want to thank those that have contributed way more than there share already,
Al, Kevin, Eric, Sondre, and Lee with Brandy all are integral to this being the hit it is, and they continue to be generous! Thank you guys.

Also I really don’t want someone to not come if they cannot afford it. And those that come long distances and need to stay over, I’m just glad you come, you are spending quite a bit of money as it is.

Bottom line is it is expensive to do this. If you appreciate it and want to donate to help offset cost, send me a pm. Next time we will come up with an expected cost and have a recommended donation. And I’ll have a jar. Because many have commented to me that they didn’t see one.

Let’s keep this a positive event!
Dan

Well put. I know some genuinely can't, i still want them there as well. But those who can should help out. Its a good time, and likely the best bang for the buck one will get

I hear you loud + clear Bob, but I would hate to limit new blood coming in. I still fondly remember the first one, and I needed to be coaxed to come, it seemed a bit intimidating at first.

Being warmly welcomed by people you did not even know is priceless, and I hope it continues.
Same here Mike. Dan's was my first one and I had that same feeling. I didn't think he forked out that much but I knew it was a lot for him to host. The next one I will make arrangement to stay longer and help clean up.

Im not going to the NY gtg as it seems a little busy etc. I would rather go to Dan's if he does another one because all the guys are more connected to each other. I would rather be part of a smaller group of people that I know better.

I would be more than happy to contribute anyway more than just bringing paper towels. I can even come the night before and help setup as I am only 30 minutes away from there.

I feel bad now knowing more of the details of his cost etc.
