I never went much less then 20. How much run time on the one at 15?
I've got a few tanks through it. I'm hoping to put some time on it Sat. I've got a couple cord of 8" and less to buck up. I'll let you know how she fares...

They are not the Bakelite seals they are the black rubber ones for the cheaper price. Same ones that fit an 020.

If I recall the OEM 200 seals I bought were not what a standard double lip seal looks like, kind of weird actually .Seemed to me they were kind of a fold under single lip seal .How they were supposed to work like that I never figured out but they do work .Easy to remove, just pry them out with a pair of ice picks .Punch them back in with a deep socket no seal driver needed .

I think I put the old bearings and seals in one of the drawers in my work bench .I'll find them when I get time .

Al,

and:

deep socket is NOT the way to go to put the bakelite seals in... they need to be pressed in, one way or another, and preferably BEFORE the case halves are assembled

The thing is the OEM's are about 20.00 ea . Very easy to work on like you said.

No way those aftermarket seals are as good as OEM, Bakelite holds up to more heat then the rubber the aftermarket ones. It is OK to use them but they not better.

Um...let's compare apples to apples...

Bake lite frame vs metal frame....which holds up better to heat?

Oem single rubber vs am spring retained rubber double seal?

That's what we are comparing

Bakelite can take more thermal abuse than nitrile rubber!

Ask a Stihl Tech if you dont believe me they built the saw and there is a reason they upgraded to Bake lite! Enough spin!

Bake lite is just the frame....the rubber is a whole different compound...no?

The rubber seal is what does the sealing....now if you want to argue which type of rubber holds up better I'm all ears

Bakelite is the hard frame ...a rubber ring is mated to the bakelite

You think the Stihl seals are rubber?
