Cannot do a cam without upgrading the fuel system so stock cam for now. Would have to pull the engine or remove the whole front of the truck to replace the cam.
Bugger. You are backed into a corner a bit ay.

I had an Australian cousin of this motor. 4.1(250) alloy x-flow head in an XE Falcon Fairmont Ghia. Head was cast by Yamaha according to some. Can't confirm that.
Mild cam and headers to match 3 SPD BW auto and port and valve work to suit. Carbed tho.
Went good.
Got stolen and torched. So began my Subaru Legacy RS Turbo era...

I don't know what happened to my post as I got your email notification on the quote//question.
Actually did one EFI and one carbureted.
Comp says application was 1965 to 1996.
Call there tech line to verify if you are in doubt. I wouldn't steer you wrong Steve

The reply I sent you is gone too! Also a whole page of the random pics thread is gone too!

The guys at fordsix.com say it will raise the dynamic compression ratio and cause a bunch of pinging.

For the number I gave you??
K66-236-4.
I doubt that as it's a mild mannered High Energy Series. I really had no issues. But your engine should be set up with a knock sensor for the EFI isn't it. That all electronically monitored//adjusted right??

Problem is that you 1996 is OBD2 and a mass airflow truck. They can adjust fuel way more agressively than my first year fuel injected 300. If I have a slight vacuum leak the thing will buck and jerk like crazy. Just can't adjust the fuel. The stock cam is actually more agressive than the 252. The stock cam timing is retarded 8°. Unless I go sniper, I'm afraid I'll have to stay stock cam and timing for now.
