I had a 2-door Wrangler once. With the top off it felt like I was a contestant in the Dakar Rally. Fun vehicle with the super short wheel base.

To be fair, most Jeep fans consider it just a platform to be modified and buy them well used. What a Jeep is like when new is irrelevant. The small front wheel drive ones like the Compass are hot garbage, just a Neon with more ground clearance. They are not worthy of the Jeep name.

This is true. Fiat/Chrysler could sell the heck out of a new stripped Jeep chassis. 99% of buyers get them for the look, might get on the occasional gravel road. Offroading is a big deal around here. Out snow wheeling awhile back I was admiring the upgrades the Sheriffs Dept had on one of their Jeeps. Deputy said "We had to, everything broke and by everything I mean everything. Whole front and rear axle assemblies, springs, shocks, all the mounting brackets, bolts.............."

At my "Dealership" they have a few or more Jeep Rubicons on the showroom floor. All are Jurassic Park/World look alikes. I guess there are lots of Dinosaur film fans in my area.
