When I posted about the front end alignment on my F350.....I forgot to follow up.

The camber is within spec. It calls for up to 5° positive camber. The idea is that under load it will bring the tops of the tires in....
So your 350 has twin I beam? Ida thunk solid wif leaf sprangs. There are companies that make air bags fir inside the coils up front. They were popular around here with ferd 1/2 ton plow trucks. They could be lined up without the plow and bags empty then know the psi to get it back in with plow on.

So i just read this whole thread today. I got to say Steve that was a helluva project u pulled off in record time! And u did it in a cold barn over the winter. I like the blue and white color scheme too. I dont think i have the patience anymore to even try a project like that. Well done and documented thread! Now for part 2! Keep up the good work! Really impressive! :campeon:

Yup, the solid 2wd axle with leaves was only available on the Super Duty trucks with 19.5" rims. Which where the early kind of f450/550

Thank you! Yes, I am very proud of what I accomplished with help from family and friends too. Believe it or not but the frame rebuild cost less than $2700 to basically have a brand new truck in the end. Really excited to see how a fresh 300 will sound and drive. Every one I have ever owned or driven has had some years and miles on them.

I've had 2 and a half tons of logs on it.....didn't even get on the overload springs.
Which tends to suggest that front camber up around 5 degrees positive will probably stay at that type of number, leading to outside edge tyre wear. But time will tell I'm sure.

I have a tailgate trim bonnet for one of these.
Not perfect but real nice enough I hoarded it away.
The plastic mounting hrdwr is gone.
Can't believe I missed this topic, love older trucks, yes even Fords lol.
Going to sift through and check out your ups and downs.

I don't believe anyone has mentioned 460 yet?
Too bad ya already sent out to the machine shop, Steve.
I woulda voted 12v. So....how bout a little bore and stroke along with that turbo?

Port n polish on that head with a header to make her breath? A little lump in cam change? Don't forget the bigger valves.
At that point with your EFI, ECM, and trans upgrades ..... you're gonna need ladder/wheelie bars and slicks. :D

There is an 80-86 style short box 4x4 I have me eye on. Not sure if its up fir sale though. I should stop and ask lol. Its setting in a side lot at a place called Mr. Axle where they normally do sell used rigs but it has no sign on it.
Almost anything is for sail.
