If you can find an old timer or a real old alignment shop, they made a tool to twist the I beams. But I'm talking like your dad's age when these types of axles where common on all the cars and trucks.
The ford service book says you can do it with a simple looking gadget that you stick a hydraulic jack in, I'll find pics later. I think it would be pretty easy to duplicate. In the meantime, you can use a tractor bucket on the front bumper and a jack under the beam. All o' us down at Hillbilly Fabz Works swear by that method, if'n the truck isn't too important.

So a couple days ago I didn't log into OPE for the day. 1st time since I joined. With this thread, and other recent chats on not so pro 3, my old OBS caught my attention again. I fell into the Fummins rabbit hole and spent my time there reading up again.
I'm looking forward to bringing that truck home. :D

Get creative with a torch! They sell alignment shims for the 4x4 king pin d60 but it has a bolt on spindle

@Steve was it you who mentioned something fuel related going wrong with these when the fuel tank is consistently ran low? I have a 1990 f250 with a 460 and when I put it into gear it will die sometimes or the idle will get real rough. It does have the original plugs and wires but new ones just arrived so that's on my to do list.

I did replace the idle control valve and throttle position sensor

Pull the engine computer out and open it up. See if any of the capacitors have blown. Super common in these that cause all sorts of problems. Also check for vacuum leaks with a smoke machine. These early computers can not adjust the amount of fuel modern vehicles can to compensate so they will run very lean and cause all sorts of problems. The egr valves are common to leak vacuum from the pintle being worn.

Yes. The in tank pumps are not baffled so when the gauge starts to fluctuate at low levels the pumps can suck air and get hot.

Thanks, I'll check that out!
I just looked on rock auto and a new ecu isn't too bad, $100 after core.

Nope, just make sure the numbers match or you could get some goofy stuff going on!

Little update on the F150. The current engine is starting to get a good bearing rattle so I pulled the original engine out today to prep it for the machine shop tomorrow. Looks like it's gonna need bored and a general cleaning.
