Nope. Mine is ported by redfin. I knock the filter out twice a day and it works perfect. I cut timber for a living it gets worked hard. No problems from being restricted from the filter.

Just got my freshly ported 044 back together and ran it up and tuned with a HD (not a HD2) filter which flows as good or better when I blow through a section of the filter material vs the HD2.

Fitted the Max Flow up and tune did not need changing but it did seem to build revs with greater ease making it a bit more snappy.

Gunna get a white fine pour Max flow for it

I saw a stock Stihl 044 pick up 500 RPM's today going from an OEM HD2 to this filter. Also ran much stronger and the filter was well used.
Incredible gain.

WD40 helps on most flocked filters.

Or you could just quit being a sissy. It's a chainsaw not a beard trimmer. Nothing wrong with an HD2. I've probably put as much fuel through a 661 as anyone on here and the HD2 has never hindered it.

Don't use heavy filter oil on flocked or felt filters. It will kill the flow. Monkey piss on those if they bleed fines. Filter Oil is for open element types like open cell foam and such. Thought everybody knew that. The uninformed Job 1, ALWAYS use the right *s-word! and stuff. I have used the wrong *s-word when I was young and dumb. I'm still dumb but experience teaches me to use the right *s-word every-time for a given job. It limits the "come backs and chaos."
