up to 25. :) I think eventually the oil in the fitler gets used up? (I assume dried up by dust etc) So just because it's not totally caked and clogged up doesn't mean you shouldn't wash it and re-oil? I think that is what Joe told me...can't remember exactly.

In any case this is really impressive!

Try this with an HD2.

Wondering if any Ozzys are using these filters and how they go with the very fine fines own hard woods make.
I have been thinking the same. I want to give one of these filters a go on a ms660 and Solo 681 but not sure which way to go. That redgum dust is fine as milled flour.

I went and looked over all the instructions again and noticed mention of if about half way down. I don't read further than what the pics show if they are part of the directions. Can i suggest just adding a little side note on the pics that states "oiling required"?
I must admit I'm one of the few who never read directions when a few pics show the process and almost roached an ms460 and 660.
Yes, we will make that addition as well. Thank you for this suggestion!

How about a nice filter to fit Stihl 026/260.

The 260 filter is an abortion. Not only does it leak alot around the choke shaft and through the filter halfs, but it's also pretty restrictive.
However, the 260 has to be one of the more durable saws out there. It takes some doing to wear one out.

You could always just modify a HD2 filter on the 661 and adapt the foam element around it. It will fit under the stock cover.
Even the cage from the HD1 will work

I woukd prefer to have the added maintenance of a oiled foam filter in a saw, especially one with an air injection type set up.
However, many guys would *b-word about the added maintenance and most wouldn't maintain them just as the don't maintain flocked filters.

I just bought a foam element and removed the filter material from an old stuffed HD filter.
The remaining cage fits in perfect.
Cut a piece of black perspex and used this to clamp it down

Works a treat and yes, stops fine powder dust in dry Aussie hardwood.

Shame the 064 covers are dog ugly. I am not paying for something that looks worse than the bare filter so I just run it like this.
