I've run an 18" 3/8lp .050 on an ht 101. . . it cut just fine, I didn't like holding it up though. I kind of like 16" 3/8 lp .043 for them most of the time, more for reach than diameter.

No way I'm wrestling a pole saw with an 18" bar. At our company we call it the pain stick, and the new guy gets learned up fast on pruning skills with it. WRT my inquiry, it was in looking for a bar for a top handle, and finding something longer than 10" for 1/4p .050. Plenty of action in the 3/8lp .043. Wanting to make use of this chain I picked up, shouldve verified bar availability first on me end. Ah well, small loss. I'm sure I'll come up with something

I got an Oregon bar you can try if you want - it's 1/4" pitch, .050" gauge and measures about 15" OAL. The bar slot is .250" but could be widened easily enough.

FWIW the first chainsaw I ever bought and still have ,a Poulan S25 DA has a hard nose 14" in .050 . It came with 1/4" now 3/8" pico .I'd say flea bay or Bryce out in Washington state ( Cheap chainsaw parts ) I do know a couple years back he had a lot of factory 14" loops of 1/4 for Stihl 015's

how about a 21' Silky Hayauchi with a pruner head on it? The saw blade is bad enough. All that stuff comes with a limit. . . of 6 cuts, sometimes 5 or more, get out the rope and harness.
