064 vs 288xp

My thoughts are 281 /288 . My mmws 288 had big gains compared to stock . Run them all buddy

With parts availability excellent now, from where it was in the past for the 288, there really is no reason not to have one of these excellent saws. (Now currently manufactured in Brazil) All comes down to preference I suppose. Never had an 064, but surely they cut good too.

I've owned and ported several 281 and 288 and they do run ok but the 064 to me is a superior saw in every way.

There both good saws but If one is going to be used every day the 064 would be the only choice for me.

288 can have spring mounts is the plus for it. Bolt on intakes are easy to swap bigger carbs onto.

I have had a 066, 288,and 385! 066 is gone and the two hooskies are still here. I prefer my 385 over my 288, but there is just something about the 288 that I like. The 288 does feel better with a long bar over my 385 though.

Both hooskies are ported 066 wasn't!

Only in extremely hot weather does a stihl leak bar oil.

In a week's time my 395 will leak the tank dry
