I know it's a video, but.....

In the beginning....its pig rich at 13.3....I can hear that.
But when you lean it out, it sounds at least 1k-2k faster to me.

Like I said....its tough listening through a phone.

It sounded like it picked up that much RPM to me too but like you say it is tough tell from a video.

It sounds about the same to my ear,at the last I started with no 4stroke and turned the low out to where I could barely hear it 4stroke,I checked it after and it was 13.5k

Listen at it the first time I check rpm,it's fat at 13.3 but I heard it start leaning and let off. Anybody else hear that?

Your post don't match up bud. Turned the low out eh?

You say it was fat , but you still leaned it out. Then it was lean and richened it up. And it tach the same. You've done Hundreds of these, 7 days a week and can't figure that out. Go back to the basics. Good luck.

I watched the video again. The saw sounds really rich the first time you go WOT, when you let of an snapped the throttle it sounded leaner. Then when hold it WOT the second time it sounded leaner and sounded like it picked up RPMs and you did not touch the carb from the first time.

I thought an airleak caused things to lean out and get too much rpm.

The saw sounds snappy and great. I hear the 4 stroke cleaning up. I'm suprised that the tach stays the same as well.

The fact that it hits 14k when it's ice cold leads me to believe you aren't moving enough air/charge when it's warm.

What's an 056MagII run stock in terms of rpm? Max rpm is generally based on jug design, give or take.

Most hybrids run higher rpm, not lower, like the common 046/044. You have less case volume, not sure which case you used.

I'd change the spark plug, run without an airfilter and see what happens. If there's no change, take a look at the jug, the timing, and how the piston and lowers breath at BDC. I know you know your stuff and I'm sure you've studied this already. If all else fails, it's gotta be jug design or some drag on the motor at high rpm-like a bearing that's binding or a rubbing flywheel.

I meant the high,my phone changed it,damn auto correct.

The saw is never more than a couple hundred rpm different from fat to lean.

It's at 13.3 fat then almost 13.5 lean and to your ear it's 2k faster? You think it's at 15.5? Lol

I've said about 5 times what I think is wrong with it,I'm talking about it to see if anybody else has ever had it happen.

Also this isn't the 064/056 and has nothing to do with this thread but I was curious to hear other people's theories.

So what's the deal Jason? Is there a point that too much opening is a bad thing? A point of diminishing returns?
Maybe a little back pressure is better?
I couldn't quite read the tach, but could clearly tell it was reving higher.
