Jon is working third shift at a plastics molding place. He's doing pretty damn good. He works three on, two off, two on, three off. Weird schedule to me. I think he might start helping me again two days a week. I hope so anyway........I miss him.

Your gonna have some serious grinding to do in order to make the 394/395 piston fit in there. Plus it'll be about 115cc's when done. It's a 5mm crown difference.

115cc's sounds interesting! Especially in a 15# package.....

I'm gonna try a few different pistons today. Anybody have a 661 piston handy they can post up measurements of?

The piston could be 10' long but as long as the bore or stroke isn't changed cc's doesn't change.

Crown makes the piston taller at tdc but shorter at bdc.

How does a bb 660 piston compare to a 395 or 56 mag?

661 piston measures .870" from the top of the pin bore to crown, intake side skirt width measures 1.377" at the narrowest exhasut side is 1.484" total piston height is 1.70" wrist pin is 12mm
395 piston measures .813" from the top of the pin bore to crown skirt measures 1.48" intake and exhaust side total piston height is 1.89" wrist pin is 13mm

Looks like the 661 piston would require even more of a spacer under the cylinder. Which might not be a bad thing, that would help straighten out the intake boot.

That's my thinking.
Spacer and a 395 piston is where I'm at now only because I have 395 piston.

Today I'm doing a few 3120 carbs.........boring stuff.

I used a 395 piston in my pipe saw. The weight of it slowed the saw down compared to the OEM piston. I didn't realize how much till I went back to the OEM top end.
