Is that a domed piston?

Before Jason and I started talking about this I was looking for a replacement piston for my 056 mag ll project (which is now on hold). I haven't found a quality aftermarket piston yet. So I guess the only other options would be to make a pop up or hope there is enough material in the squish band to cut it square and fit a 394/395 piston in it.

If you're gonna go this far for a hybrid mod then why not cut the top off the cylinder and go two piece? Then you can run high enough compression for 110 octane along with shaping the cap to run the piston of your choice.

Cause when he gets the kinks worked out with this one, hopefully, he'll be doing another one.

And it will be used.

At the time it was going to be for my stock 056! I had found the crank case and cylinder but was still looking for a piston.

The new 064 i sold last week is sitting here waiting on me to put a 056 cylinder on it so I have one more to play with and maybe find some power.

The cylinder and cases will bolt together now freely, thought I was dead in the water because I have no wrist pin bearing or wrist pin but I'm using a 288 bearing and pin so no worries.

I'm sure it's going to take some clearancing for the piston to not hit and that's what I'm doing now.

Some details are internal and external clearacing....I use a 460 intake boot although not ideal....2100 wrist pin bearing...without looking at my notes if I remember right timing numbers arnt far off....muffler needs to be cut and tilted down to use the lower mount bolts...I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of other minor details...they do make a hell a runner though

Why wouldn't you be using a 066 red light case to do this since the cyl mount holes are already 6mm and spaced out further also the case charge would be almost the same ?

this is a build I'm looking forward to watch !

I saw spencerspaving saw run its scary wicked !

Because the man who owns it don't have a 066 red light case.

It's together and I'm thinking about not changing to 6mm
The holes will have to be slotted for them but it's a direct bolt on with 5mm
And it aligns the piston correctly.

Couple pistons come to mind without research for pin dimensions. 2100/395/56magII/661.
I used a stihl piston and a 288 pin and bearing. Piston bosses need widened for the 288 bearing, just like a 064 piston in a 046.
I was wrong on the cylinder needing to come down.
With a gasket the chamber still needs cut to clear

We talked about this in the saw build thread. @spencerpaving mentioned a 660 case to have more volume. We decided to stick with what I had and not prolong the build further.
