See that's why i can't have anything nice.

All of those ones have been ported and rebuilt, then cycled through, more come in while others find new owners. I usually have 4-5 that I use for my own cutting. They have a large grouping of Stihl relatives to keep them company.

It seems that Google Accounts has added some security measures to its services across the board. I have all of my chainsaw related picts stored in the older Picassa Web Albums and Google took that over, then added extra layers of security to prevent some devices from accessing /seeing picts that are posted online from the account. Seems strange to me because that is what the Picassa Web Album was originally set up to facilitate, new and improved they say....LOL
I can't see any pics either.

But I have a Basher 026 in my garage, and I use it a lot.

My more recent builds were worked fairly hard this past year with more than 50 tanks now gone through on both the saws I run personally, the others have cut even more time than I managed to put in and all have run since their builds with no apparent damage or breakdowns. The wood/trees we were cutting during this time only warranted using small saws , it was previously cut over and all the big marketable sized trees removed. The land is now all sub divided into large building lots and those lots are what we are clearing now for home building. There were a few trees on each lot that warranted using a 036,360 or MS 362 but the 026 sized saws did the majority of the cutting.

I have a pair of these:

Dang things tend to grow on you. Dependable, light, good fuel economy, and always ready to work. I like adding the outside bumper spike and evening up the points with the inside using my grinder. Seems to give the saw some character.

I doubt I will ever sell my twins. If somebody offered me $200 for one, I'd turn them down.

I believe the 260 is as desirable (but that may be simply a matter of opinion)
The parts are interchangeable, with only "style" differences in many cases -- not fitment.
If you own one of each of these you could easily tell.

Has the OP bought the 026 yet?

I'd like to find a nice 024 to tinker with myself.
Not yet, he has it set aside. He had a few 024s and some other saws of that era sitting with it. I may see what I can do as a package deal. I'm making a trip up there next week when my parts come in I ordered from him for a piece of equipment.
