026 problem

Sure you dont have the smaller piston in the larger bore?
There are 2 different top ends for these.

As basic as this sounds....try a new plug. I had one with a miniscule crack that acted exactly the same as your saw vid.

A bad plug wire can also cause troubles like this. I had one that didn't fit tight on the spark plug do basically the same thing your saw is doing.

That sounds and acts a lot like a saw i had with a coil braking down . If you can be sure of your carb and the plug /lead/cap or a ..short out ..somewhere then ..........

GOT IT. it was the coil boys. I swapped the one from my 036 and she acts normal now. Crap now I gotta find another coil

Yeah a big thanks to everyone for the help. Now I’ve gotta find another coil for it and a new fuel line cuz it is on its last leg anyway. I need to get these 044 parts listed for sale or trade

Take a good look at the plug wire. They wear thru and short out at the upper AV mount on that model.

I’ve actually been playing around and swapping some coils and looking at the originals coils wires and such plug wire looks fine but the little wires had some spots in them The original coil shows a good spark with plug grounded on outside but want start saw. Put the one back on from my 036 and starts every time

I’m gonna do some more playing around with these coils. Something doesn’t seem right if I can get fire on the outside (it’s a pretty bright blue spark) but want start the saw. Hmmmm.
