is there any tricks to make a 026 start easier ?
The choke flap is in the dang air filter. It has to close good to get her fired up, then stay out of the suction of incoming air at WOT. Usually takes some messing around to get it right on both ends. The key for WOT is mostly in spring tension.is there any tricks to make a 026 start easier ?
Like Duane said, really good chance it's the choke not closing. My 034s is like that. Not sure if it's the control lever, the electrical spring, or the air filter. It lacks about an 1/8" from closing completely. If I don't wanna pull it 10 times, I have to hold the throttle down while holding the choke with my right thumb, and drop start it.is there any tricks to make a 026 start easier ?
I shall try that. ThanksLike Duane said, really good chance it's the choke not closing. My 034s is like that. Not sure if it's the control lever, the electrical spring, or the air filter. I think the primer system nowadays just primes the carb full, and recirculates the fuel back into the tank. It doesn't actually squirt fuel into the cylinder any moreI guess so.... But who wants to dick with a primer bulb system???
It's easy to check. Pop the cover off and look from the right hand side. Put the choke full on, and let off. I bet you'll see the control arm back off a bit when you let offI shall try that. Thanks
Thanks . I will check it out. If so is the only fix to start like previous statedIt's easy to check. Pop the cover off and look from the right hand side. Put the choke full on, and let off. I bet you'll see the control arm back off a bit when you let off
I get that....It's still a lot of monkey motion. I am SO old school. The simpler, the better. Anything to avoid extra fuel lines to melt in the corn syrup gas......I think the primer system nowadays just primes the carb full, and recirculates the fuel back into the tank. Oh I agree. Me tooI get that....It's still a lot of monkey motion. I am SO old school. The simpler, the better. Anything to avoid extra fuel lines to melt in the corn syrup gas......
Depends on what is causing it. Mine looks fine, but I might be able to bend the spring to get it to fit the choke notch better. Might be a worn out control lever or worn filter leverThanks . I will check it out. If so is the only fix to start like previous stated
Might also be 30 years old lolOh I agree. Me too

I have to pop the air filter cover off my 034 to start from cold. The choke just won't close all the way with it on. I can't find where it's hitting, I've ground here and there but it just won't quite close with the cover onLike Duane said, really good chance it's the choke not closing. My 034s is like that. I'll count, but I know its 8-10....anything over twelve and I call my wife or Jason. JK My saws sit too long between usesSo how many pulls does it take you guys to start it when its cold
10, 15 maybe. If I hold the choke down about 5So how many pulls does it take you guys to start it when its cold
When you push the control lever down to choke, and let off, does the lever come back up a bit? Mine does, and the choke gets a slight gap in itI have to pop the air filter cover off my 034 to start from cold. The choke just won't close all the way with it on.
