Were you running the husky recommended 50:1 fuel mix?
I was using Castrol TTS at 1:40 which I have been using in all my Stihls and Huskys for the past 10 years without any problems.

That's 13 months free rent. AKA ..a free saw.
I took out a new 272 for a half a day and It cost me a hundred bucks and a half days pay to drop it on his lap.

I guess the secret is not to leave anything left for argument.

I came up with a lame vibration issue that nobody else in the world can detect... apparently??

I think the convo went like this.

Shop owner: " I can't put it back on the shelve like this"!

Me: " No ..I known... that's what I was telling ya... it's got a vibration"

Shop owner: No it's used so I can't put it back on the self like that"

Me: "and it's got a vibration and I can't use it like that or I would be out there"?

...Well what could you put it on the shelf for??? [$64,000 question]

Shop owner: Well I would have to at least drop the price 100 bucks.

Me: " let's do it then because we godda make the other saw shop and buy the new 371xp that I past over yesterday.

We may as well get better aquatinted over there anyway.

The new 1996 371xp had a small air leak when It got hot. That was fine because I was burnt out and my ported 262 was sacked. It gave me a reason to leave.

I never had any problems up to then in 7 yrs.
21 yrs of 371/372 XP, I had one main bearing go in 5 months in 2007.

266,262,371/372,357 are phenomenal. engines
I have had them all ported.

Many have had good luck with the 562.

Did you ever check the model yrs of the saws?

I realize you have other saws without issue but running tight chain and jamming up and cuts tightening can all play a factor. If it's a bit tight in the belly then it's a lot tighten on the ends. When the chain speeds up it gets tighten (centripetal force) and creates more heat ...in return gets tighten.

I see you have been posting this today on a few sites that I am aware off.

May I add just one more little thing?

You were like 16 yrs old...lol

Most of these guys probably have underwear older than that.

Welcome to the site(s)

i had a 562xp that had the PTO bearing cage disintegrate after 3 months, it was repaired under warranty then 6 months later the same thing happened, i wanted my money back but the dealer convinced me to take a new saw, this one lasted 4 months before the piston ring pin came out and destroyed the top end so i got my money back and bought a Stihl ms 362, this was 5 years ago and i have not had any problems with the Stihl even though it has literally done 20 times more work than the 562xp . I cannot recommend the 562xp with a good conscience.
