Awesome Ron.

I knew the sideplates on the sixguns were different and one appeared to be large caliber while the other looks like a 22lr/22mag version, but I don't know much about single action sixguns. I always wanted a Colt sixgun but have never wanted to pony up the cash for one.

I know Glocks, HKs, and 1911s from a variety of smiths.

And I definitely know Randall and Lile.

You have a very nice collection there man!
Thank you Sir. You’re correct on the frame sizes. One is a 45LC and the other is a 22mag. Both have 4.75” barrels.

Other knife is a Lile (made in 1984-same knifesmith that made the knife for Stallone/Rambo in the First Blood movie). Both revolvers are Colt new frontiers.

Colt Single Actions. Now we're talk'n!:2guns:
I have a third generation Colt Single Action Army. I think its time for at least a second generation.

If using Obenauf’s oil, place a cover underneath the boots while applying because you will have leakage.

Heavy duty lp doesn't darken the leather as much, its basically the same consistency as mink oil. naturally oil is gonna darken leather.

good info. Color of leather after conditioning with both is noticeable. With work boots it’s no big deal but if applying on nice cowboy boots it would.

The 405 was the 375 H+H of it's day, but truth be known, Teddy never intended to shoot a Rhino with it, it was his "Lion Medicine gun". The Rhino just charged when he was Lion hunting and he had no choice!

But that pic did become famous! Many Texas Rangers and Rough Riders used the Model 95. Winchester wanted it to be a military rife (which is why it was chambered in 30-40 Krag, 30 Russian and 30-06), but it failed the US tests because the lever action was not good when shooting prone. It was one of the few lever action rifles that could shoot pointed bullets. For those who don't know, the 30-40 Krag (aka 30 US) was our military round in between the 45-70 and 30-03/30-06. Both the Krag and 30-03 used 220 grain round nose bullets, the 06 used a lighter pointed bullet that better replicated the performance of the Mauser rounds.

The fact that the box magazine precluded the gun from balancing well in your hand, and that it was relatively expensive, precluded it from gaining too much popularity. I always wanted to find one in 35 Winchester … that was a nice round … but never did find one I could afford! It is also only available to hand loader's, and has power similar to the 348 and 358 Winchester rounds. Brass is made by necking the 30-40 (a rimmed round) up to 35 and moving the shoulder forward by fire forming it. Basically, it is a 35/30-40 improved!

The Russians did adopt it, and more Mdl 95s were chambered in 30 Russian than any other caliber … but not many of them made it back!

Hugh Jackman used a Model 95 in the Movie Australia.

My 356Win is like a rimmed 358Win. They use the same reloading dies. This one likes 250grs.

Compare it with the Heavy Duty lp. Mink oil and leather oil are 2 totally different things.
Ok it’s the wax oil, similar to mink oil, rather than the liquid oil. Both made by Obenauf’s. As of now, my choice would be mink oil rather than the Obenauf’s liquid oil.

That's it. I've used the obenaufs silicone spray on some of my work clothes/hats..it works good too, I just bought the kit from obenaufs website.

You actually put that LP on bare handed. It's real similar to mink oil
Good to know on the silicone spray.

For the internal workings I like Rem oil … for protecting the outside I have not found anything better than Fluid Film.

I also like the Hornady One Shot spray for the internals.

Nice collection Ron, my Uncle always carried a large Randall, would take out tree limbs like a small hatchet or machete! He used it to clear the trails every year.

He also had some stag handle Ruana's. He also had a collection of Samurai swords.

This is my Browning re-pro of a Mdl 95 in 30-06 with my first handloads for it. I owned the gun for a long time, but never shot it until last Nov. The target on the left were my first two sight in shoots at 100 yds, than I moved the sights and shot the target to the right. Then I moved the sight back 1/4" left and let her be. Not bad for open sights! I was stoked! If they did not have the 3 pt a side restriction at my upstate property, I would use it!

Nice shooting. One day hopefully I’ll own a Win 71 & 95.

Nice lever actions guys!
Lever actions and Colt single actions are my weakness. I wish I would have bought and KEPT back when you could get the Real Deal at a real affordable price.
