Isn't @Lee H a U.S. Chrome dealer? I wonder how much it would be to have the cylinder re-plated? Would be nice because you could do all of the port work and bevels first, then have it plated and it would be better than OEM.

Unfortunately I read once in a post of his it was big money to do, if I'm not mistaken. I've been wrong before and seem to be regularly these days...


IIRC it was something like $200 - $250 or so, not cheap by any means but probably worth it for a rare cylinder.

The history of this saw is unknown to me prior to my ownership. A friend of mine knows I fancy anything of a vintage nature and I picked it up after giving it a pull and it had pretty fair comp. That is all I truly know. It was in nice shape and I couldn't say no.

Are you referring to the project saw, or the saw I quoted in my response and question to Jim above (the $400 very nice condition Pro MAC 700)?

I was thinking the same thing but with a more bigger slug going back in it.
