sent saw, $400 for new top end and porting.
that was back in ‘20. I lost contact with him sometime in ‘22.
In ‘18 he had done a go-through on my 10yr old Dozer Dan 346 that turned out great. Sent him another 346 to port, that turned out great.
then…
o well…
in my case the druggie, according to him, was his wife. She threw him out, Said the house was hers… My guess, and after reading through this entire thread, with his back issues he had gotten hooked on Oxy. During our conversations he had finally gotten surgery and was near pain free and turning things around. I guess that either never happened or didn’t last, if it did. He wound up on the coast working at a bicycle shop. all his stuff, peoples’s saws, all locked up. Last we talked was early ‘22. He was supposed to be trying to get his tools…and saws from the house. Truck broken down, living at a sketchy place in Coos Bay that sounded like a crack house from his descriptions.
a nice guy to talk saws with back then. Then he just vanished.
